Growing Cattleya in Hydroton

I bought a small package of Hydroton from Singapore and now wanted to try on my orchid.
This is a cattleya hybrid I received as a birthday gift from a close friend.

This morning I repotted the plant in hydroton.

Let's see if the plant likes this growing media or not.

Ha Xuan - how about a little info about hydroton? I'm not familiar with it. Looks like rocks...? Gorgeous bloom!

Kris, hydroton is made of clay, fired in a rotating kiln at 1200oC so that the core expanded (like popcorn). It's very porous, clean and most importantly, a renewable source.
I got the info from the Internet.
Many orchid growers use hydroton in their semi-hydroponic culture.

Is it leca? I hope orchid will like this media - cleanner and nicer looking than charcoal ;-) But looks like this will retain more moisture...
